Gonorrhea and Pregnancy

A pregnant woman can pass gonorrhea to her baby during delivery. This can cause blindness, joint infection, or a life-threatening blood infection in the baby. Treating gonorrhea as soon as it is found in pregnant women will lessen the risk of these complications. If you are pregnant and have gonorrhea, talk with your doctor about the medicines you can safely take.
