obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
An anxiety disorder in which a person suffers from obsessive thoughts and compulsive
actions, such as cleaning, checking, counting, or hoarding. The person becomes trapped in
a pattern of repetitive thoughts and behaviors that are senseless and distressing but very
hard to stop. OCD can be mild or severe, but if severe and left untreated, can stop a
person from being able to function at work, at school, or even in the home.

include rapid heartbeat, chest sensations, shortness of breath, dizziness, tingling, and
feeling anxious.
